Not many people have seen this picture, and it's been a long time for some since they last saw it, but it's obvious why I feel obligated to post it on the interweb for all to see. Best Family Picture Ever!! Special thanks to Kelli Salter (then Harris) for establishing the perfect fraternal mood and familial poses. This was taken late 2001, my mission in life now is to find some way to verbally express the joy I feel when looking at this picture, until then Dionne Warwick's words will be an adequate substitute.

Saddest Story Ever

So to reward myself for the first round of boards I bought Guitar Hero II and all the other Guitar Heroes. I first played my cousin Abe's at Christmas a few years back and got hooked, ever since then whenever I was at Wal-Mart or Best Buy I would go and play the demo. Well with Sheri gone and boards done I had nothing to do but dedicate 16 hours a day to playing, so because of this and my wannabe a rockstar dreams motivating me, I got to be pretty good. Good enough that I decided to, with my wife, demonstrate my talent at a Stake talent night. So in the midst of "Sweet Child of Mine" as I was getting to wail mode, I pulled too hard on my wired controller and my PS2 took a 4 ft nose dive on the the gym "cultural hall's" wood floor. Sad thing was I didn't even get to perform Slash's solo, even sadder is that my ps2 would be ruined forever. I know it sounds stupid but I felt like a little piece of my heart was stolen from me that night. Food lost its taste and the sun did not shine. I seriously moped for like 3 weeks, it happened 5 days after I got GH3 and a second guitar. I'm totally over it now though. But sometimes, during the tranquil moments of the night as I drift between dreams and reality I feel the weight of my plastic Gibson SG draped over my shoulders, my top hap tipped low, my long curly bangs veiling my eyes and the crowd chanting my name with lighters ablaze. R.I.P. Patti Smith 2.

This is Risa's pinewood derby car. It actually is a truck glued to a chunk of pine w/ wheels. There's a little statue of Dora glued to the back of the truck. Risa was so proud, but the thing stunk of last-minute.

Sheri's getting a reputation at our appartments for being a joker. The intent of this one was to put a tarp up on our neighbor's door then ask them to come outside and play cornhole. Turns out they were already outside. But we did get a call from our manager the next day, she told us the office got some complaints and concerns about a "secret fumigation." Apparently some of the other neighbors felt they should be told if there is a bug problem.

3 months since my last blog, yikes. everybody has probably stopped checking in by now. I was pretty excited to do this thing too. oh well. I'm about to start my 2nd quarter of 3rd year optometry school, the buckeyes are 3-0, and looking good. My Red Sox are in good position for the playoffs, my wife and child and doing fantastict. I haven't gotten my boards scores back. A month ago I had dreamt three times in the same night that I had failed them. Not a good feeling, luckily I that was after I took my boards. We should be finding out soon how I did. I really enjoy looking at people's blogs, keep up the good work guys.

School starts yet again, tomorrow. I will officially be a 3rd optometry student. It's wierd to think that the "hard part" is now over. I've learned quite a bit about myself this year. I'm probably learning things that most people learned years ago, but it's defenitely coming in handy. Today was father's day and Sheri made me feel very special. What a wonderful woman. Yesterday, I went to Jacob's Field to see the Indians play the Braves. I love watching baseball. The parks are great. It's just a reaxing thing to go to the park, talk and watch a game. Sheri and I have been getting souvenir pennies, from the places that we go to. I'm planning on getting one from each baseball park I see a game at. So we got back from SLC the other day, Chris and Katie got married. Weddings are so great. As long as you don't have that much time invested in them. We just showed up and partied, it was perfect. We're very happy to see those two so happy, they are just right for eachother. This coming week is finals and i'm not looking forward to that. I've got a test that covers over 400 drugs+side effects+the way they work=not a cool test. It's interesting stuff, but I've already studied more for this final than I did for my entrance exam into optometry school.
With some game show earnings I splurged a little bit. I bought myself a Nintendo DS. It's the new version of the game boy. Out in SLC I found out that Chris has one too. I was so excited, these things got Wi-Fi capabilities. The games are cheap, the battery lasts a long time, color and sound are both way good. The only bad thing is I tried to convince a contemporary of mine on the plane back from salt lake that it was okay to be 27, married, a father and own a "game boy". Trust me, it is way way way okay. If any of you out there got one, lemme know.

Another Dream Realized

So we were going to head up to Detroit MI so Sheri could try out for "Deal or No Deal". We decided to stay in town. Little did we know that we were giving up one of Sheri's dreams for another. It all started when a classmate of mine invited us to a Cinco de Mayo party. We said "Si", (yes) and showed up Saturday night around 9:00. My classmate's husband happens to be the proud owner of a 1991 electric blue Chevy Camaro. Nice! Sheri got to drive it. To quote directly from Sheri "I felt like I was falling in love all over again."
